Official ceremonies were held today, 17 August 2026, at the barracks within the area of responsibility of the Operations Command (OC) to mark 18 August – Army Day.
The ceremonial activities organized across the OC units, marking the day, provided an opportunity for personnel to reflect on the Army’s decades-long development, its achievements, and the contribution of generations of service members who, through their professionalism, dedication and selfless commitment, have built a modern and professional Army.
Addressing the personnel, the Commander of the Operations Command highlighted their key role in maintaining the readiness and capabilities of the units for successful execution of the assigned tasks. He further emphasized that NATO membership represents both a motivation and an obligation to continuously enhance interoperability, professionalism and readiness. “There is no strong command without a strong team, nor a ready unit without professional leadership”, stated the Commander. He extended his congratulations to all personnel on the occasion of 18 August – Army Day, expressing his appreciation for their professionalism, dedication and selfless service.
As part of the ceremonies, congratulatory messages and promotion orders were read, while personnel from the units were presented with awards and commendations in recognition of their achievements, professional conduct and contribution to the successful accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Through these ceremonies, the personnel of the Operations Command once again reaffirmed their commitment to the professional and responsible execution of their duties, as well as to the continued enhancement of the Army’s capabilities and readiness.
