On 19 August 2026, members of the Artillery Battalion of the 1st Infantry Brigade were engaged in the firefighting operations in the area of village Chanishte, Municipality of Prilep.
A water tanker was also used to help extinguish the fire. The Army personnel responded to the fire professionally, responsibly and with dedication, while adhering to established procedures and safety and personal protection measures.
Their readiness for such engagements is the result of continuous training and preparation for responding to natural disasters and other crisis situations.
As part of its mission and in accordance with the Constitution and the laws, the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia remains prepared to provide timely and effective support to the population and relevant institutions in responding to natural disasters and other emergencies, whenever required.
