Today, the Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, conducted a working visit to the Artillery Battalion, stationed at the “Mirche Acev” Barracks in Prilep, accompanied by the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, and the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski.
During the visit, Major General Lafchiski evaluated directly the unit’s combat readiness and artillery capabilities, with particular emphasis on the personnel’s level of training, the functionality and maintenance of artillery weapons and systems, as well as the unit’s readiness to conduct fire support tasks.
The available artillery assets were presented, along with activities related to their maintenance, the implementation of planned training activities, and the overall readiness of the battalion’s personnel.
During the briefing, the Chief of the General Staff was informed about the current situation, the unit’s level of readiness, the implementation of ongoing activities, and priorities for the further development of the unit’s artillery capabilities.
Addressing the personnel, Major General Lafchiski emphasised the importance of artillery as a key provider of fire support and stressed that continuous training, professional expertise, proper maintenance of equipment, and a high level of combat readiness are essential for the successful execution of assigned missions and tasks.
The Chief of the General Staff’s visits to commands and units will continue in the coming period, with the aim of directly monitoring their status and readiness and further enhancing the capabilities of the Army.
