Based on the decision of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Army sent a unit of 100 members to the Republic of Slovenia, on 10 August 2023. Immediately after the day of arrival they were engaged in one the most affected areas by the devastating floods, which took place in Slovenia at the beginning of the month.
Personnel from the Operations Command, the 2nd Infantry Battalion, the Reconnaissance Battalion, several members of the Engineers Battalion trained in the management of engineering machines, and members of the Logistics Base went to the Republic of Slovenia.
The Army members are deployed in groups according to the plans of the host country, in Mezhice in the vicinity of which they carry out professional activities in floods sediments removal.
In this way, the Army once again shows its readiness to act in conditions of a natural disaster outside the country, which were shown in similar situations so far, such as the devastating flood in Stajkovci in 2016, but also internationally when we helped in dealing with the floods in Serbia.
Our members will selflessly engage in the field and with their excellence and training will perform all the tasks, the same as they did not so long ago, during the engagement in dealing with the devastating earthquakes in Turkiye.
