In accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Red Cross and the Ministry of Defense, and on the occasion of marking the Day of the Red Cross Establishment and Blood Donation Day, the Army participated in an event dedicated to the promotion of first aid under the motto “Safety Culture – Healthy Community”, at Macedonia Square in Skopje, today.
As part of the event, lifesavers from the Army and the Red Cross conducted demonstration exercises aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of first aid, as well as promoting first aid skills among citizens. During the demonstrations, first aid procedures were practically presented for an open fracture of an extremity, a closed fracture of an extremity, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an adult.
This joint activity is yet another confirmation of the long-standing successful cooperation, which continuously contributes to strengthening preparedness and coordination in humanitarian activities and response to emergency situations.
