Macedonian Sports Climbing Federation invited the Special Forces Battalion (SFBn) service personnel to a climbing marathon. This year, it is the 12th climbing marathon, which is traditionally held in Demir Kapija.
Alpinists from our country and abroad took part in this climbing marathon. Two service men from the SFBn who have extensive experience in this discipline, sergeants Velanov and Stoilov, participated in the climbing marathon. They participated as rescuers of injured people in the forbidding terrain of the Demir Kapija canyon where the Army regularly train alpine climbing. This additionally proves the well-placed confidence in the highly competent Army service personnel.
Continuous cooperation with Macedonian Sports Climbing Federation results in exchange of experience in mountaineering and alpine climbing as well as improving civil-military cooperation as one of the goals of the Army.
