The long-term cooperation between the Army of the Republic of Macedonia (ARM) and the Red Cross of the Republic of Macedonia was once again presented during today’s cooperative exercises for rescuers.
The exercise, which is part of the activities for celebrating 25 years since the formation of ARM, showed high level of coordinated activities of the ARM members and the volunteers of the Red Cross in the process of saving lives in hypothetical crisis situation.
At the same time, this was a final practical test of the four-week training for rescuers among the members of the units of ARM and the volunteers in the Red Cross which was held in the medical training center in the Military Medical Center of ARM.
The demonstrated procedures in the hypothetical scenario, providing first aid to slightly and heavily injured people by an explosive device, treating the bleeding, immobilization of the injured, triage and evacuation to the higher health institutions have entirely justified the competence of the participants in the process of dealing with situations like these.
The exercise is one more confirmation for the successful long-term cooperation between ARM and the Red Cross which can also be seen from many different types of activities such as, participation in cooperative exercises, blood donations, as well as cooperation in real situations while dealing with the problems of natural disasters and their consequences.
This was also emphasized in the speeches held by the Deputy Chief of GS of ARM, Major General Muhamet Racaj, the Secretary General of the Red Cross of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr.Sait Saiti and the Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, as organizers of this activity.
The cooperative exercise was attended by many representatives of ARM, the Red Cross of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as representatives of the civil health organizations.
