Today, within the exercise “Decisive Strike” at the Krivolak training area, a tactical exercise was carried out with combat and artillery firing.
The head of the US National Guard Bureau, General Joseph Lengyel, who today visited the participants in the exercise, said he was impressed and that this exercise would increase the possibilities for developing collective preparedness and interoperability. He said that our country is a permanent partner of the United States, and that as a country dedicated to common security will be a strong ally in NATO.
General Lengyel, in terms of Krivolak training area, pointed out that it is a great capacity that gives huge opportunities for exercising, from the aspect of the terrain, its size and the possibilities for firing.
Lt. Col. Igor Manasovski, the director of the exercise, stressed that this exercise and all activities are a result of a process that was planned for a year and a half with the partners of our Army from the national guards of Pennsylvania and Colorado from the United States and with the armed forces of Bulgaria, Albania, Lithuania and Montenegro.
“The exercise should basically ensure the increase in the level of interoperability and interaction of all participants and in the end enable the capabilities of all elements so that they can function jointly in a future joint operation with our partners,” Lieutenant Colonel Manasovski said.
He informed the media that part of the exercise involves over 2,700 troops, with more than 400 motor vehicles, as well as aircrafts from our Army and the United States.
