Today’s demonstration exercise of the Macedonian and American Military Police units at the Army Training Area “Krivolak”, which is part of the military exercise “Operation Phalanx-Macedonia”, confirmed the excellent working relationship and the high level of cooperation between the two armies.
This was a mutual statement of the Minister of Defence Zoran Jolevski, the USA Ambassador Jess Baily, and the Chief of CS of ARM Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski.
Minister Jolevski said that this exercise would be of great benefit to the Macedonian Military Police service personnel for the forthcoming NATO evaluation, which ought to demonstrate the interoperability of the MP company. Minister Jolevski added:” We are very happy for the positive feedback we have received from the USA service personnel”.
Ambassador Baily said that this exercise reaffirmed the strong working relationship between the two armies and demonstrated the dedication of USA in helping the Macedonian Army to develop and enhance its capabilities in terms of equipment and service personnel.
He also added that in the future he expects the members of both the Macedonian and the USA army to be co-deployed to different missions and he highlighted that:” We are looking forward to Macedonia becoming a fully-fledged NATO member.”
“To my great satisfaction what we have seen, the level of training, and the execution of the tasks reassure that the Military Police company will pass the evaluation successfully”, said General Velichkovski.
The exercise “Operation Phalanx- Macedonia” will last until 06.09.2015 and during this period the members of the Military Police of ARM and the USA Army will perform several activities including, combat in built-up-areas, advanced shooting with automatic rifle M-4, crowd management, check-point duties and other.
