Today, 24 September 2013 (Tuesday), the Army Training Area Krivilak hosted the Distinguished Guests day in the frame of the bilateral military exercise “Challenge 2013”, where participants from the Slovenian Armed Forces and ARM members are working together. The exercise was visited by the Minister of Defense Thalat Djaferi, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, the Deputy Ambassador of Republic of Slovenia in Republic of Macedonia Alesa Sovinc, high representatives from the Slovenian Armed Forces, military attaches accredited in Republic of Macedonia and others.
The ATA Krivolak hosted a tactical exercise with live ammo and technical shooting today, and the top training was shown in act by the representatives of the ARM Air Defense Battalion and the Air Defense Unit from the Slovernian Armed Forces, who executed a successful shooting on targets in the air by the Light Mobile Rocket System Needle.
After the exercise, minister Djaferi noted that with the results from the shooting, the representatives of the two armies did an excellent work, which shows that the budget money for the training is well spent.
The Chief of the ARM General Staff greeted the participants from the two armies and congratulated them on the excellent results and diligent organization on the exercise, thus noting that the cooperation between ARM and the Slovenian Armed Forces is an example in the region and it represents a driver for improvement of the relationship between the states.
“Challenge 2013” is the sixth in a row of this kind of exercises which is conducted in Krivolak by the representatives of the two armies, and having joint training will contribute to a better battle readiness, operative capability as well as interoperability of the Air Defense Battalion from the ARM Air Defense Brigade. The round up of this project is yet another strong impulse towards strengthening of the bilateral military cooperation of the ARM with the Slovenian Armed Forces.
