On 24.05.2014, the ARM members of the contingent preparing for the next rotation of the mission “ISAF” returned. They participated in the multinational exercise “Platinum Eagle 14-2″ in Romania from 13 .05 to 23. 05. 2014.
The exercise “Platinum Eagle 14-2” is performed each year at the training area “Babadag” which is the largest and the most modern in Romania, in order to prepare for peacekeeping missions, enhance the interoperability among the partner armies and to strengthen the mutual relations through joint training.
Apart from members of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, the 8th Marine Regiment of the United States Marine Corps and members of the armies of Romania and Bulgaria also took part.
During the two-week training, equally with the other participants, our peacekeepers performed and shared their knowledge in counter-terrorist exercises, advanced shooting exercises at moving and stationary targets, dealing with improvised explosive devices, military operations in urban area and martial arts.
With the completion of the exercise, the ARM members who are part of the next rotation of the contingent “ISAF”, have enriched their military experience which will be greatly beneficial while performing their tasks in peacekeeping.
