Today, October 18, 2025, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, visited service personnel of the 173rd Airborne Brigade of the U.S. Army, who, with the support of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, are conducting the exercise “Junction City 2025” at the Army Training Area “Krivolak” from October 6 to 28, 2025.
As part of the visit, General Lafchiski, accompanied by the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, also visited the Army personnel who, together with members of the company from the 1st Infantry Battalion/152nd Infantry Regiment/Mechanized Brigade “Sassari” of the Republic of Italy Armed Forces, are conducting training at the ATA Krivolak from October 8 to 24, 2025.
During the visit, General Lafchiski also met with Lieutenant Colonel Andrea Di Lauro, Commander of the 1st Infantry Battalion/152nd Infantry Regiment, who briefed him on the process of planning, preparation, organization, and execution of a tactical exercise with live fire at the company level on the topic “Reinforced Company in Attack.”
The implementation of joint training with members of the armed forces of allied countries within the Alliance represents a continuous activity aimed at expanding knowledge, enhancing the capabilities of Army personnel, and increasing interoperability, operational effectiveness, and readiness among allies.
