Today, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, held a meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality of Kavadarci, Dr. Mitko Janchev, during which issues of mutual interest related to cooperation between the Army and local self-government were discussed.
As part of the meeting, General Lafchiski presented the Grand Plaque of the Army to the Mayor of the Municipality of Kavadarci, Dr. Mitko Janchev.
The plaque, awarded on the occasion of the Army Day, represents recognition of the selfless commitment and the enormous contribution that Janchev continuously provides to the Army, not only as the Mayor of the Municipality of Kavadarci, but also as a socially responsible individual.
On this occasion, emphasis was also placed on Mayor Janchev’s commitment to supporting the activities of the exercise “Immediate Response 25”, which was conducted during May/June 2025 at the Krivolak Training Area. As a part of this exercise, an Open Day of the Army was also held in Kavadarci.
This event, at which Army equipment and weapons were displayed, as well as those of the units from the countries participating in the exercise – including JLTV armored vehicles, the “Husky” engineering vehicle, a mine detection and demining robot, CBRN equipment, infantry weapons, and more, was attended by numerous guests and citizens, who had the opportunity to engage directly with members of the Army.
