A central ceremony was held today in the Ilinden barracks in Skopje on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Republic of North Macedonia NATO membership, where in the presence of the highest military and political leadership of the Republic of North Macedonia, the members of the Army, in the most dignified manner through line -ups and tactical demonstrative exercises demonstrated the training, capabilities and interoperability of procedures with NATO, as befits an Army, a NATO member.
The President of the Republic of North Macedonia and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Stevo Pendarovski, the Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Defense, Radmila Shekjerinska, and the Commander of the NATO Joint Command in Naples, Admiral Robert Burke, addressed the ceremony. As part of the ceremony, also, helicopters of the Air WING and NATO aircrafts performed flypast, as part of the air patrol and protection of the air space (Air Policing).
