The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, held an information briefing today in the premises of the Delegation of the European Union in Skopje, where he presented the activities and the situation in the Army.
In his address, attended by the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. David Geer, Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski emphasized that the current security and health challenges have shown that only together and united in all domains of cooperation we can preserve the well-being of our countries, as well as the international peace and security.
He added that with our alignment with the EU’s common foreign and security policy, we will continue even more actively with our contribution to the common security and defense policy, as well as participation in missions and operations aimed at promoting peace and security.
Representatives from the General Staff presented to the EU Delegation and the military attachés accredited to the Republic of North Macedonia from EU countries, Great Britain and USA, the activities related to Army participation in the European Union operations, training level and capacities, current activities in the area of development, equipment, modernization and future plans.
The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia has actively participated in the operations of the European Union, EUFOR ALTEA since 2006 and in the training mission of the Central African Republic – “EUTM-CAR” since 2020.
