A delegation of the KFOR mission command led by the mission Commander Major General Michele Risi undertook a working visit to the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Defense during which topics of mutual interest were discussed.
After the formal reception ceremony by the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, during the working meeting at the General Staff, the KFOR delegation was acquainted with the ongoing process of transformation and modernization of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the participation in peacekeeping missions and preparations for deployment of Army servicemen to the KFOR mission.
Generals Gjurchinovski and Risi discussed topics regarding mutual cooperation, such as our contribution to the mission, the security situation in area of responsibility of the mission, future joint activities and exchange of information.
During today’s visit of the Ministry of Defense, General Risi had a meeting with the Minister of Defense Radmila Shekerinska.
The participation of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia in the NATO mission, KFOR started indirectly in 2007 when the host country support Centre for Coordination whose basic task is to coordinate with KFOR forces within transport customs and border procedures including other necessities of KFOR in the area of the logistics support
started working.
