The General Staff, which is the highest professional and command body in the Army, responsible for planning, organizing and control of training, continuously carries out activities that are important for maintaining the required level of combat readiness, including reconnaissance on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In accordance with the planned training activities of the General Staff, the Chief of General Staff of the Army with part of the key personnel of the General Staff for the past two days conducted a command reconnaissance of the area in the eastern part of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The purpose of this activity is to survey the space and to understand its military-geographical features, through the study of land, defense organization and the manner of interaction and coordination with other subjects of the defence system.
As part of the command reconnaissance, at the watchtower “Bogorodica” the current security situation on the southern border was observed, the tasks performed by the forces engaged in the area of responsibility of the Army in the past, as well as the manner of deployment of forces in the following period. After that were inspected some of the accommodation facilities of Army members in Bogdanci, deployed in support of the Ministry of Interior, to deal with the migrant crisis on the southern border.
At the same time, there was a conditioning march in the area of Bela Voda, Berovo, and some of the strategic military facilities of the Army along this route were also visited.
During this activity, the director of the military museum, Prof. d-r. Aleksandar Stojcev, had a presentation about the military historical heritage on the topic “Dojran Positions on the Macedonian Front” in the period from 1915 to 1918.
