The Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of North Macedonia, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski is on an official two-day visit to the Army of the Republic of Slovenia.
After the reception with military honours at the General Staff of the Republic of Slovenia, General Gjurchinovski had a meeting with his host, Major General Robert Glavash.
During the meeting, the two Chiefs of the General Staffs of the two Armies discussed the bilateral military cooperation and the common exercises and activities attended by the two armies, the security threats in the region, as well as the plan to continue the bilateral army cooperation through mutual training and use of the capacities.
Generals Gjurchinovski and Glavash also pointed out the possibilities to broaden the cooperation and mutual training between the Armies of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Slovenia.
During his stay in the Republic of Slovenia, General Gjurchinovski also had a meeting with the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Urosh Lapret. They also discussed the excellent mutual cooperation in the area of defence. Today, the delegation visited the 1st Brigade Command and the declared CBRN unit of the Slovenian Armed Forces, as well as the humanitarian non-profit organization “ITF” which provides assistance and support in the post-conflict zones.
Republic of Slovenia is among the first countries that signed a document for cooperation in the area of defence with the Republic of North Macedonia. Both our countries also participate at exercises regularly. During this month, members of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia will participate at the international “Disaster Relief and Military Mobility Exercise” in Postojna, Republic of Slovenia.
