The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, today at the Supreme Command (SHAPE) in Mons had a meeting with General Markus Kneip, the Chief of Staff of this highest NATO Command.
During the meeting between the Generals Kneip and Gjurchinovski, they discussed the current and upcoming activities of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia which are part of the process for a complete integration of our army into the NATO structures.
Among the other issues, during the working meeting with part of the key personnel in the Supreme Command they discussed topics related to the planning of our participation in the joint activities which will come after the ratification of our membership in NATO.
As part of the visit, yesterday in Brussels the Chief of the General Staff participated at the meeting of the European Union’s highest military body – the EU Military Committee at the Chiefs of Staff level during which they discussed issues related to the training and activities in the EU led peacekeeping operations, as part of the Military Committee mission.
Previously, General Gjurchinovski had a meeting with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Air Chief Marshal Stuart Peach to discuss topics related to the accession process to NATO.
