Today, delegation of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia (ARM) led by the Chief of General Staff of the ARM, Major General Vasko Gjurchinovski had a regular planned visit to the KFOR Command in Pristina.
During the visit, General Gjurchinovski had a meeting with the KFOR Commander, Major General Lorenzo D’Addario. This is their first official meeting since General D’Addario was assigned as Commander of KFOR in November last year.
During the planned annual meeting they discussed the security situation and the security threats in the region, pointing out the activities dealing with the migrant crisis, where the ARM takes part, as well as the planned joint activities of the ARM and KFOR.
Generals Gjurchinovski and D’Addario emphasized the good cooperation between the ARM and KFOR until now as an important point in the entire security situation in the region, at the same time discussing the possibilities for further cooperation.
The Army of the Republic of Macedonia provides support for KFOR in the transit through our country during the border and customs procedures, the use of the ARM capacities for medical evacuation in case of need, as well as other needs in the area of providing logistics through the coordination support center of the host country.
This contribution by the Republic of Macedonia is important and highly valued by the Allied Joint Force Command Naples-NATO.
The regular planned meetings between the high representatives of the ARM and KFOR are held annually and are of particular importance for the security in the region.
