NATO advanced course on the topic “Environmental Protection and Systems for Managing the Environment in the Army” was carried out from 20th to 24th of April 2015 in the hotel “Millennium” in Ohrid, and at the barracks “Chede Filipovski – Dame” in Kichevo. The course is supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
Thirty participants from the Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania attended the course.
Most of the lectures were conducted by eminent experts and representatives from the USA, the UK, Sweden, Canada and the Netherlands, but some of the lectures were presented by lecturers from the Ministry of Defence, the Army and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Physical Planning of the Republic of Macedonia.
The aim of the course is familiarization of commanders and civilians from ARM and public employees of the Republic of Macedonia and the Balkan states with the NATO programme for environmental protection, with an emphasis on managing the environment in the Army – in the barracks or during operations in missions abroad.
