Today, 24 June 2014, at the ARM General Staff a ceremony was held on the occasion of the dismissal of the Chief of the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje, Colonel Aleksandar Aleksandrov. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the ARM Lieutenant General Goranco Koteski, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the ARM Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini, the new Head of the NATO Liaison Office naval Captain Rumen Radev, the key personnel of the General Staff and representatives of the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje.
The ARM Chief of General Staff in his address to the attendees thanked Colonel Aleksandrov for the cooperation and the unselfish and outstanding efforts during his time in office as Chief of the NATO Liaison Office. Stressing the importance of cooperation with the NATO Office, General Koteski noted that Colonel Aleksandrov in recent years greatly contributed to improve the communication with the Alliance, stressing his support in the realization of many projects of importance not only for Army but for the defence in general.
Colonel Aleksandrov thanked for the collaboration with the ARM General Staff and said that the he will always consider the ARM members as sincere friends, not hiding his personal expectations that Macedonia will soon become fully fledged NATO member country, recalling the fact that our country meets the required standards for membership.
At the ceremony, Colonel Aleksandrov was awarded by the ARM Chief of General Staff an ARM plaque as well as a NATO Medal for service in NATO operations in the Balkans.
On this occasion, General Koteski wished success and continuation of cooperation with the ARM GS to the new Chief of the NATO Liaison Office, Navy Captain Rumen Radev.
