The Chief of the General Staff of the ARM, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, yesterday and today visited the military barracks “Chede Filipovski – Dame” in Kichevo and the members of the Special Operations Regiment (SOR) who are carrying out training in winter conditions on the terrains in Mavrovo.
During his visit of the Kichevo military barracks, the Chief of the GS of the ARM checked the combat readiness of the units in this barracks, as well as their training and preparedness in performing duties, and also the facilities, the functionality and the living and working conditions at the military barracks were inspected.
General Koteski noted that the units of the ARM at the Kichevo military barracks carry out their work according to the rules and regulations, whereby normal working conditions for the members of the ARM are provided. During his visit of the Kichevo military barracks, the Chief of the GS of the ARM informed the key personnel of the barracks on the current state of the ARM, the execution of tasks and future plans.
The members of the SOR, who are carrying out training in winter conditions in the region of Mavrovo, today in front of the Chief of the GS of the ARM showed high level of training, who besides training in alpine and cross country skiing, carried out different combat procedures with skies and special vehicles for snow, as well as building facilities for living and staying on a mountain in winter conditions.
General Koteski pointed out that the SOR members once again confirmed their top training and capabilities for carrying out tasks in difficult weather and terrain conditions, and that is why the GS of the ARM will continue the efforts for providing conditions for uninterrupted carrying out of training of the units, as one of the top priorities of the ARM.
On this occasion the CGS of the ARM issued instructions for further improvement of the training in winter conditions, and also in difficult weather and terrain conditions caused by severe weather, which are to be implemented by all units of the ARM.
