The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski is paying a two-day visit to the Hungarian Defence Forces as part of his bilateral activities of this year.
After being welcomed with military honors at the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, and laying flowers on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski met with his host, the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi.
Lieutenant Generals Gjurchinovski and Szendi discussed the possibilities for promoting our military cooperation, exchanging experiences and our part taking in NATO operations, as well as the security challenges of the region.
General Szendi expressed his deep gratitude to Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski for the support provided by our country as a host during the period of the Hungarian Command of the KFOR Mission to Kosovo.
At the same time, he offered the possibility to include teams of the Army of Republic of North Macedonia in the structures of the NATO Headquarters Multinational Division Centre (HQ MND-C) located in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.
The Delegation of the Army of Republic of North Macedonia, led by Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski, will visit one of the air bases of the Hungarian Air Force tomorrow and will get acquainted with the activities of the unit.
The bilateral activities of the two Ally Armies are at a continuously high level, and the Chiefs of GSs meet annually.
The Ministers of Defence of the Republic of North Macedonia and Republic of Hungary signed the Agreement for Cooperation in 2002. Since then numerous members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia have been trained at the military schools in the Republic of Hungary.
