Today, 10th August, in Volkovo, at the military barracks “Ilinden” in Skopje and at the memorial in the village Ljubanci were marked 14 years since the death of the eight ARM conscripts at the locality Ljubotenski Bachila.
On this occasion, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the ARM General Staff led by Deputy Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini, laid flowers at the memorial in the barracks “Ilinden” in Skopje and at the memorial in the village Ljubanci.
An MoD and ARM GS delegation, led by Colonel Zoran Dodevski, also paid tribute to the fallen soldiers by laying a wreath of fresh flowers at the memorial in the village Volkovo.
On August 10, 2001, an ARM military cargo vehicle, on the road to the locality Ljubotenski Bachila, hit and triggered a planted landmine, killing Tome Badarovski, Goce Chankulovski, Branko Janev, Tomislav Nastevski, Marjancho Bohskovski, Ivica Zlatevski, Tome Dimovski and Rade Janovski, all members of the ARM reserve forces.
