The Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Slovenia, Lieutenant General Robert Glavash, visited the General Staff of the Army today during his official visit to the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
After being welcomed with high military honours, General Glavash had a meeting with his host, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski.
At today’s meeting, generals Gjurchinovski and Glavash discussed the mutual military cooperation and the possibilities for its promotion.
In addition to this, the Chiefs of Staff discussed the activities regarding our joint participation in the enhance Forward Presence operation, participation in security initiatives, as well as preparations before this operation, joint exercises and the possibility of using the capacities available to the armies of the two countries.
General Glavash expressed his gratitude to our Army members for their engagement in dealing with the consequences of the floods, which hit the Republic of Slovenia. For the Generals this was a confirmation of our sincere and friendly cooperation.
The two NATO Armies have been continuously cooperating at a high level, primarily in the field of conducting joint exercises, but also in supporting training, as well as joint participation in security initiatives and defense projects of regional importance, including the Balkan Medical Task Force project.
After the official visit to the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, General Glavash will participate in the 26th US-Adriatic Charter (A5) Chiefs of Defence Conference in the role of an observer.
