Chief of General Staff of ARM Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, today (29 April 2015) was welcomed with full military honors by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Hungary. The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Hungary General Tibor Benko.The high level delegation led by Chief of General Staff of ARM that is officially visiting the Armed Forces of Hungary since yesterday laid a wreath of fresh flowers in the center of Budapest, at the monument of the unknown soldier.
At the meeting at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Hungary, besides the furtherance of the bilateral cooperation between the two armies, possibilities for military education and training of the members of ARM in the Hungarian Armed Forces and the safety condition in the region were also discussed. General Koteski expressed gratitude to Hungary and the Armed Forces of Hungary, for the unwavering support that Macedonia and ARM receive in the efforts for a full membership in NATO. He pointed that the visit of the Armed Forces of Hungary, presents a strong impulse in the strengthening of the cooperation between the two armies, and also for the exchange of experiences from many areas in which ARM has reached NATO standards.
Expressing satisfaction from the development оf the cooperation with ARM, General Benko expresed readiness for further support of the reforms of ARM, as well as extension of the cooperation in the area of training of the members of ARM at the training centers of the Armed Forces of Hungary
During the stay in Budapest, General Koteski met the Minister of Defense of Hungary Csaba Hende, who once again confirmed the support that Macedonia receives on its path to Euro-Atlantic integrations from Hungary.
Tomorrow, the Chief of Staff of ARM will visit the operational center and the center for air space control of the Armed Forces of Hungary in Vesprem.
The bilateral cooperation in the field of defense with Hungary was officially established in October 2002, by signing the Memorandum for Cooperation between the Ministries of Defense. In the past few years the cooperation between the ARM and the Armed Forces of Hungary, has taken place in the area of language training, expert talks and education in different areas, as well as realization of joint exercises in the Air Force.
