Today, Chief of General Staff of the ARM, Lieutenant general Gorancho Koteski, is continuing his official visit to the Armed Forces of Republic of Lithuania. During yesterday’s meetings with the Lithuanian Minister of Defense Jouzas Olekas and the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces (AF) of Republic of Lithuania, Lieutenant general Arvidas Pocius, it was emphasized that Lithuania provides complete support to the full membership of Republic of Macedonia to EU and NATO.
Hereby, top people of Lithuanian defense stated their readiness to involve the ARM in some joint project of the Baltic countries, in the domain of defense, as well as in some activities for development of the combat groups of EU. Apart from strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two armies, during the meetings in Vilnius, cooperation in the domain of Air policing was also discussed, taking the example of the Baltic countries, as well as development of the concept of reserve forces, where the hosts showed interest in organizing joint training and usage of the training facilities.
This first visit of the Chief of General Staff of the ARM to the AF of Lithuania, was seen by the Chief of General Staff of the ARM as exceptionally significant, confirming the contribution and commitment of Republic of Macedonia and the ARM to European security and defense policy, taking into consideration that Lithuania is a member state of EU and Chairman of the EU Committee.
Today, General Gorancho Koteski visited the Regiment for Lithuanian Land Forces Training and Mechanized Infantry Brigade “Iron Wolf”.
