Today, September 6 2013 (Friday), an official event was held on the occasion of the commanding officer duty transfer of the 1th brigade in Straso Pindjur barracks in Petrovec. The duty commanding officer of the 1th brigade was received by Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, the ex-commanding officer of the Special Operations Regiment, from Brigadier General Stojan Dimcov. The event welcomed the Chief of the Joint Operations Command, Major General Metodija Velickovski, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the ARM, commanding officers of subordinate commands and units and other guests.
General Velickovski expressed his pleasure to be present on this event of the duty transfer and addressing the former commander noted: “You were the commanding officer during the greatest challenge – the largest ARM transformation, the biggest shooting, and the biggest assessment”. By transferring the unit’s battle flag, the JOC commander welcomed the new brigade commander and sent a message that it is essential to continue with a further development of the training and the capability of the 1th brigade.
The former brigade commander, Brigadier General Stojan Dimchov, expressed his pleasure of being the unit’s commanding officer and his satisfaction of the achieved results so far, and expressed his pleasure of having the chance to command with this unit, thus thanking everyone for the given support.
The new commanding officer of the 1th brigade, Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, said that he is proud to be able to command with a unit such as the 1th brigade, sending a message to the unit’s members that “We will march longer and farther, we will shoot more often and more precise, we will have exercises throughout the territory of the Republic of Macedonia”, promising at the end hard and dedicated work.
The former commander of the 1th brigade, Brigadier General Stojan Dimchov is appointed as a Chief of Staff of the Joint Operations Command by the President of the Republic of Macedonia.
