The Chief of GS of ARM, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, had a farewell meeting with Naval Captain Rumen Radev, the Chief of NATO Liaison Office in leaving in the Republic of Macedonia. At the same time he met the newly appointed Chief of the Office, Naval Captain Gorazd Bartol.
At the meeting, General Velichkovski pointed out the advisory role of the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Macedonia as well as the importance of the Office in the mutual coordination of activities between ARM and NATO.
He expressed his gratitude to Captain Rumen Radev for his dedicated work and welcomed Captain Gorazd Bartol wishing him every success on his new position.
Prior the meeting there was an official promotion of the Meeting room at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia, which was equipped with the help of the NATO Liaison Office Skopje. It will be well used for numerous activities which are conducted at the Ministry of Defense and General Staff of ARM.
NATO Liaison Office Skopje has been known in the Republic of Macedonia with this name since April, 2012. However, it has been working in the Republic of Macedonia since the 1st of April 2002 with a different name. The mission of NATO Liaison Office Skopje is to advise the Ministry of Defense of RM and the ARM on the defense aspects in the process of ARM reformation in order to help Macedonia to integrate into NATO as well as to provide support to joint operations on the Balkans.
