The Chief of General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski did a tour of the Light Infantry Battalion Group (LIBnG) in the barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip in order to acquire direct insight into the readiness of the largest declared unit.
During the visit of General Gjurchinovski, an expert team from the General Staff did a preliminary inspection of the current activities related to establishing, preparations and procedures that are conducted to reach operational readiness of the largest declared unit in the Army within the given time limit.
The commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion and the commander of the declared company within the LIBnG presented the level achieved in realization of the given tasks to the Commander of the Operational command Major General Pavle Arsovski, the Chief of General Staff and the team.
At the same time the number of personnel, armament, equipment and technical assets that are projected for functioning of the unit, as well as coordination of the planned training of the 2nd MIBde with the planned training of the LIBnG in the eve of the forthcoming evaluations were presented.
In front of the LIBnG members, General Gjurchinovski emphasized that all the necessary measures are taken and assistance is given by the GS and the superior commands of this unit to work, solve problems and meet the challenges that the unit will face in order to achieve the required level of operational readiness.
In the period so far, the 2nd Infantry Battalion was a carrier of the medium infantry battalion group which had two successful evaluations in accordance with the NATO concept.
Brigadier General Hugh Lloyd-Jones from the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, who provides advisory assistance in implementing the goals of the Strategic Defense Review, was present at the activity today.
