Today and tomorrow in the Army House in Skopje, a workshop on gender perspective is being held with ARM battalion commanders.
The workshop, which is organized by the General Staff of ARM, examines the implementation of Resolution 1325 from the UN Security Council, and it focuses on the need to achieve gender equality, from planning to execution on all decision-making levels, i.e. from operational to tactical level.
In the course of the workshop the following issues will be discussed : prevention of sexual violence in conflict situations, gender inequality as a new modern security threat, a challenge to implement this plans and concepts, a process that requires determination and changing attitudes.
During the next day practical exercises based on real life scenarios and plenary sessions will be explored.
The workshop on gender perspective is the first of its kind in the Army of Republic of Macedonia and it will become a regular practice in education of military and civilian personnel in ARM.
