The deputy of the commander of the Joint Forces Command of NATO in Brunssum, Lieutenant General Stuart Skeates had a meeting today with the Chief of General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski.
At the meeting they discussed about cooperation with the Joint Forces Command of NATO in Brunssum, the approaching process of our country in NATO and the achieved interoperability of our units in accordance with the NATO standards.
Therewithal the Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski expressed gratitude for the support by the Joint Forced Command of NATO in Brunssum in the integration processes for our entrance in the NATO Alliance as 30th country member. Also were mentioned the benefits from our past engagements in the peacekeeping missions where almost 4000 our members participated, the mutual exercises, as well as the evaluated combat readiness of our declared units on the necessary level.
The Lieutenant General Skeates, besides the full support for the approaching process in NATO also mentioned that with our full membership in NATO, which is greatly a result of the professionalism of our army members in the missions and the mutual exercises, the mutual safety benefits will be operationalized.
Within the visit of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, Lieutenant General Skeates had a meeting with the Defense Minister Radmila Shekerinska and he also held an interactive briefing with heads form the ministry and the general staff.
