Today, October 21st, 2015, the Chief of GS of ARM Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski had a formal meeting with the Deputy Head of Mission of Hungary, Н.Е. Gyula Somogyi.
General Velichkovski expressed gratitude to the Republic of Hungary for the support of the Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia, as well as the effort for the admission of our country to NATO. Chief of GS of ARM expressed contentment with the development of the bilateral collaboration in the field of defense with the Republic of Hungary, and reminded that during the last few years it has shown great progress.
The Ministries of Defense of Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Hungary have signed an agreement of collaboration in 2002, and since then a great number of ARM servicemen have been schooled at the military educational institutions in Hungary. During the last few years, the bilateral collaboration of ARM with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Hungary has been intensified, especially in the area of exercises, education, foreign language learning, army medicine etc.
Deputy Head of Mission Somogyi emphasized that the collaboration between the two armies will continue to develop through new projects that will be an unambiguous contribution of Republic of Hungary to the Euro-Atlantic integration of Republic of Macedonia.
The Defense Attaché of Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Macedonia Colonel Vishtavel Jozef, who performs this duty from the office in Belgrade, was also present at the meeting.
