Today, 20th October 2015, the Chief of GS of ARM Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski had a meeting with the Ambassadress of FR Germany to the Republic of Macedonia H.E. Christine Althauser.
General Velichkovski expressed his gratitude for the support of FR Germany in the Euro Atlantic integrations of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as for the NATO admission of our country. The Chief of ARM GS highlighted the excellent cooperation between ARM and Germany, which resulted in training of 150 ARM service personnel at high military educational institutions in Germany and the co-deployment of ARM and German service personnel in the north part of Afghanistan, under the regional command in Mazar-e Sharif.
Ambassadress Althauser emphasized that the cooperation in the field of defence was of utmost importance for both countries and the same will develop in the future, and thus again confirmed the support for the NATO and EU membership of the Republic of Macedonia.
The meeting was also attended by the Defence Attaché of FR Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, Lieutenant Colonel Guido Altendorf, who performs this duty from the office in Tirana.
