ARM Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski had a regular meeting with the newly appointed non-resident Republic of Turkey defense attaché for Macedonia, Lieutenant Colonel Rushen Abidinoglu.
During the meeting they discussed issues related to cooperation in the field of defense with special emphasis on the joint participation in the peacekeeping mission ‘Resolute Support’ in Afghanistan within the Turkish contingent.
General Velichkovski wished the newly appointed attaché success and expressed his appreciation for the continued support Republic of Turkey gives the Republic of Macedonia for becoming part of NATO structures.
Lt. Colonel Abidinoglu, who in the period until the resident defense attaché is appointed, will perform his duties from the office and will work on the promotion of the bilateral cooperation between ARM and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey.
The extremely good cooperation with this important strategic partner of the Republic of Macedonia is reflected in the continued dialogue and concrete proposals on how to implement the agreed agenda.
