In the framework of the multiday visit of the USA, the Chief of GS of the ARM, Major General Gorancho Koteski, together with his host, the Adjutant General of Vermont, Major General Steven Cray, held a meeting yesterday (16 July) in Montpelier, in the US state of Vermont, with the Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, Phil Scott, and they also visited the National Assembly and the Crises Management Centre of this state.
On the meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, the strategic partnership with Vermont was confirmed, and also the opportunity was stressed for intensifying the cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and Vermont and in other spheres such as education, health, economy and other.
TIt is confirmed from both armies that all capacities that are available are being used for exercises, joint training and education of ARM members and the Vermont National Guard, and with the goal of preparation of the existing units and capacities for eventual future joint deployment in the post-ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
The visit of the Chief of GS of the ARM continues tomorrow in Washington where he will have meetings with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, with the Deputy Assistant Secretary, Philip Reeker, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence, Evelyn Farkas, as well as with the Director of the Army National Guard.
