Chief of the General Staff of the ARM, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, participated today at the Strategic Military Partner Conference which was held in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria. There are 65 participants at the conference, Chiefs of the General Staffs of the armies of NATO member states, Partnership for Peace, The Mediterranean Dialogue, the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, global partners, as well as high representatives of the NATO command structure.
The Conference, which was greeted yesterday, by the Bulgarian president Rosen Plevneliev, at the Museum of Bulgarian National History, is going to focus on NATO and the partnership, the unpredictable threats and current critical points which endanger world security, the forthcoming challenges and the further building of the partnership basis in the Euro-Atlantic safety zone and more globally.
The increased role of NATO in the direction of cooperation between critical regional partners and their contribution to international operations, mutual interests and challenges in the defense policy of NATO and the partner countries, as well as the mutual cooperation in building respectable facilities and capabilities, will also be discussed.
While attending the conference in Sofia, it is expected that General Koteski achieve meetings with more of his colleague-participants in the forum.
