From 3-5 of June in Tirana, Albania, Deputy Chief of General Staff (DCGS) of ARM, Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini took part in the annual meeting of Deputy Chiefs of Staff as part of the South-East Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) process.
At the meeting, the participants from the Nation Members and International Organization representatives discussed about many topics of common interest including, regional defense cooperation, the importance of the efforts in strengthening the multinational peacekeeping forces of South-East Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) as an instrument of security contribution within SEDM process in various activities such as, training, operations, consolidation, and optimizing international organization’s relations.
Deputy Chiefs of Staff confirmed that they finished and signed the document for SEEBRIG Command location and critical rotational slots table.
General Sejdini said that Republic of Macedonia is determined to improve the regional cooperation and strengthen the dialogue in the region, and that SEEBRIG is the most important project within SEDM therefore there should be effort put in it.
DCGS of ARM also said that Republic of Macedonia is consistent in its views concerning the participation of the brigade in NATO, EU or UN led operations. Taking into consideration the contemporary challenges in defense field, he said, there was a constant need of adjusting to this process and the SEDM strategic overview is the right step into the decision making process.
A the end of his speech, General Sejdini thanked Romania for the cooperation during its chairmanship of the SEDM Secretariat – SEEBRIG Coordinating and Political and Defense Committee and wished every success to the future chairmanship of the Secretariat – Republic of Turkey.
