Today, 5th of August, at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia and at the ARM GS, a meeting was held between the delegation of the Macedonian Ministry of Defence, headed by the Minister Zoran Jolevski, the army delegation, led by the ARM Chief of General Staff, General Gorancho Koteski, and a senior US military delegation, led by high military delegation from the United States, led by the High Representative General William Fraser III.
The military delegation visiting the Republic of Macedonia within the CAPSTONE program, is aiming future leaders of the US Armed Forces to learn about the Republic of Macedonia and to consider the possibilities of developing cooperation between the two countries.
On this occasion, General Koteski heartily welcomed the guests expressing his sincere satisfaction that an educational institution such as the National Defense University of the United States showed interest in the region while choosing Macedonia as a host country.
Addressing the attendees, General Koteski expressed the strategic goals of the Macedonian Army, noting that generally the dangers and risks that are determined by the NATO and the EU apply to Macedonia as well, whereby emphasizing that such challenges can best be addressed within the broader security integration of the Republic of Macedonia, i.e. its membership in NATO and the EU.
At the end, the Chief of General Staff wished the guests a successful working visit to Macedonia at the same time hoping that the guests will better understand the national security objectives of our country, but that also they will get a clear picture of the Republic of Macedonia for its cultural and ethnic diversity, and the Macedonian hospitality.
