The Minister of Defense of Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Jolevski, met the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the People’s Liberation Army, Lieutenant General Wang Guanzhong, who is visiting Republic of Macedonia, today.
At the meeting the Minister Jolevski emphasized that he fully supports the process of even greater strengthening of the mutual defense cooperation, that he assessed as prominent.
„We have an excellent political collaboration that should reflect itself in other areas as well“, minister Jolevski pointed out, who on this occasion, signed a Protocol for a donation for ARM from the PR of China.
The General Guanzhong thanked for the opportunity to meet the leaders of the Ministry and the Army and added that the political and military cooperation was effective and increasing. The Army of PR of China highly appreciated the cooperation with ARM and it was also very important to us, said the general. He also pointed out that it was the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Agreement for cooperation in the field of defense between the two countries. At the same time, the General Guanzhong extended an invitation to the Minister Jolevski to visit PR of China, which was accepted with pleasure.
The Deputy Chief of General Staff of the People’s Liberation Army, Lieutenant General Guanzhong also had a separate meeting with the Chief of General Staff of ARM Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski and they discussed the possibilities for extension of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the future plans for cooperation and presentations on the transformation of the ARM which will be finalized in 2015, and the participation of ARM in peacekeeping missions were given for the delegation of PR of China . At the same time the generals at the meeting, agreed to maintain contact and good communication,with the aim of continuing meeting in the future.
The delegation of PR of China, within the framework of the visit of Republic of Macedonia, also met their host, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of ARM Lieutenant Colonel Naser Sejdini, whereas tomorrow they will visit the Special Operations Regiment where in honor of the tenth anniversary of establishing military cooperation, an exercise will be conducted demonstrating part of the training of the members of the regiment.
