Today, Deputy Commander of US Army Europe, Major General Joe Jarrard was in a working visit of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Army of Republic of North Macedonia.
During his visit, after meeting Minister Radmila Shekerinska together with US Ambassador Kate M. Byrnes, he met Deputy Chief of GS, Major General Azim Nuredin and after that a meeting was held with the Commander of Operations Command, Major General Pavle Arsoski. In separate briefings he was familiarized with the preparations for military exercise ‘Decisive Strike – 21’ and also with the capacities of the Army Training Area ‘Krivolak’.
At the briefing on military exercise ‘Decisive Strike – 21’ General Jarrar was familiarized with the current phase of preparations for this exercise, and in a separate briefing given by Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Metodi Hadji Janev, the capabilities of the ATA ‘Krivolak’ were presented along with the future plans for improvement of this biggest training capacity.
In her official statements for the media, the Defense Minister pointed out that in the course of this month members of the 15th Engineer Battalion of US Army in Europe will arrive to our country and together with our Army’s Engineers will work on improvement of infrastructure at Krivolak, which provides a chance for new exercises and new type of exercise activities at the Training Area.
General Jarrar said that at the moment American Forces are training together with the Army of Republic of North Macedonia as part of the military exercise ‘Combined Resolve XV’. He stated he is looking forward to the military exercise ‘Defender Europe 21’, which is going to strengthen the existing bond between the two Armies.
At ATA ‘Krivolak’ final preparations for military exercise ‘Decisive Strike 21’ are being completed as part of the series of military exercises ‘Defender Europe 21’. 2 000 soldiers from the Armies of North Macedonia, the USA, Bulgaria and Greece will participate in the exercise.
