The 11th Regional Futsal “Peace Cup 2019” finished after playing matches intensively for five days at the sport center “Jane Sandanski” in Skopje. At the finals, the Bosnia and Herzegovina team beat the Montenegro team and won the cup.
At the closing ceremony, which was held at the military barracks “Goce Delchev”, the winner’s cup was awarded to Bosnia and Herzegovina armed forces’ team, whereas, medals were awarded to Montenegro for the second place and to Serbia for the third place.
The General Secretary of the International Military Sports Council, Colonel Dora Mamby Koita thanked the participants for their excellent game, good sportsmanship and excellent organization of the Regional Futsal “Peace Cup 2019”.
The Director of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Zoran Mileski congratulated the Bosnia and Herzegovina team on their first place. In addition, he thanked the other teams for their sportsmanship and excellent matches. Moreover, he commended on the overall effort everybody put into this sports event whose motto was “Friendship through sport”, thus, fair play dominated in all of the matches leading to the winner of the cup.
The Regional Futsal Cup was held from 26 – 30 of August at the sport center “Jane Sandanski” in Skopje. The participants were from the armed forces of different countries, including the host country, the Republic of North Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro.
Next Regional Futsal Cup will be held in Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
