Major General Gjorgji Bojadziev
He was born on March 31, 1950, in the village of Novo Selo, Strumica, the Republic of Macedonia, in the family of Ilinka and Ilija. He has been married to his wife Sofija since 1974, and is the father of two sons, Ilija (1975) and Aleksandar (1979).
He completed his secondary education in 1969, and then continued to be educated at the YNA Military Academy of the Land Forces, where he graduated in 1973. In 1995, as a member of the ARM, he graduated from the Command and Staff College, and in 2001 from the National Defense School in France.
He was promoted to Second Lieutenant in 1973, and to the rank of Lieutenant in 1974. In 1977, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, and three years later, in 1980 to the rank of Captain 1st Class. In 1986, he was promoted to the rank Major, and in 1991 to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 1997, he was promoted to the rank Colonel, and in 2002 he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. In 2004, he was promoted to the rank of .
Throughout his career, he was appointed on duty in several garrisons in Macedonia, namely, Shtip (1973-1975), Delchevo (1975-1984), once again, Shtip (1984-1992), Strumica (1992-1995), Kochani (1995-1997) and Skopje from 1997 until his retirement in 2005, performing many duties:
- Platoon Commander (1973-1975);
- Assistant Commander for Moral and Political Education (1975-1978);
- Deputy Battalion Commander (1978-1981);
- Battalion Commander (1981-1984);
- Assistant Chief of Staff for Manning and Personnel Matters (1984-1985 and 1991);
- Assistant Chief of Staff for Operational and Educational Matters (1985-1989);
- Chief of Staff in the Division (1989-1990);
- Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence Affairs (1991);
- Motorized Brigade Commander (1992-1995);
- Division Commander (1995-1997);
- Head of the Section for Training Officers and Educating Personnel (1997-2000);
- Head of Operations, Readiness and Training in the ARM General Staff (2001-2002);
- Border Brigade Commander (2002-2003);
- Assistant Chief of Staff for Planning and Chief of G-3 (2003-2004);
- ARM Chief of the General Staff (2004-2005).
During his longstanding professional service, he constantly received numerous tributes, awards and other recognitions, as well as credits for his exceptional dedication and commitment to the army service, primarily in the promotion and improvement of the army and army processes, for which, among other, he was decorated with the following:
- Medal of Military Merit in 1978;
- Order of Military Merit with Silver Swords in 1985.
He retired on September 30, 2005.
