Lieutenant General Mitre Arsovski
He was born on November 1, 1936 in the village of Stari Grad, Municipality of Veles, the Republic of Macedonia. His mother was a housewife and his father was a clerk. He has been married to his wife Anastasia since 1976, and is the father of two sons Zoran and Aleksandar.
He completed his primary education in his native village, and continued his studies at the secondary school, which he completed in 1956. He graduated from the YNA Military Academy in 1960, followed by the Command and Staff College in 1972, and the National Defense School in 1978, in Belgrade.
He was promoted in the rank Second Lieutenant artillery in 1960. In 1963, he was promoted to the rankLieutenant, and in 1966 to the rank Captain. In 1969 he was promoted to the rank of Captain 1st Class, and in 1973 to the rank of Major. He received the rank of Lieutenant Colonelin 1977, and Colonel in 1981. In 1988 he became a , and in 1992 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
In his rich career, he was appointed on duty in different garrisons, i.e. Belgrade (1960-1972), Bitola (1972-1974), Prilep (1974-1978), Skopje (1978-1982), (1985-1986) and (1990-1993 ), Vranje (1980), Kumanovo (1982-1985) and (1986-1987), Kragujevac (1987-1990), performing several duties:
- Platoon Commander (1960-1968);
- Battery Commander (1968-1972);
- Battalion Commander (1972-1975);
- Regiment Commander (1975-1977);
- Officer for operational and educational matters (1978-1980);
- Brigade Commander (1980-1982);
- Chief of Staff in the Division (1982-1985);
- Division Commander (1985-1987);
- Chief of Staff in the Corps (1987-1990);
- Assistant Commander for rear support (1990-1991);
- Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the 3 rd military area (1991-1992);
- Chief of the ARM General Staff (1992-1993).
During his service, he received numerous incentives and awards, among other, he was decorated with:
- Order of Military Merit with Silver Swords in 1965;
- Order of National Army with Silver Star in 1969;
- Order of Military Merit with Golden Swords in 1974;
- Order of the National Army with Golden Star in 1979;
- Order of the People with Golden Star in 1985;
- Order of Military Merit with Big Star in 1988;
- Order of Military Merit by the President of the Republic of Macedonia.
