The ARM medical team of the ALTHEA mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in medical support of voluntary blood donation campaign which took place at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo as a result of cooperation between EUFOR and the Institute for transfusion medicine of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The blood donation campaign was conducted in the premises of the clinic where the Macedonian medical team provides general medical care for the needs of EUFOR.
On this occasion for the blood campaign, the team performed all the necessary preparations (rearranging the premises, preparation of guide lines etc.) and provided aid to the team of the Institute that conducted the sampling of blood.
Among the blood donors from the contingents from Ireland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Poland, USA and Bosnia and Herzegovina civilians was one female member of the Macedonian medical team.
Besides providing general medical care for EUFOR, the Macedonian medical team of the sixteenth rotation regularly carries out military professional training in repetition of medical procedures aimed at improving efficiency in performing everyday tasks.
