Recently, a team of Israeli company “Elbit” has been working on a project for upgrading the helicopter Mi-8 MT of the Air Defence Brigade (ADBde).
The project includes upgrading of the helicopter GPS and transponder, modification of the cockpit, building in electrical and mechanical installations in order to install modern ANVIS-HUD 24 for night flights.
As a part of the ARM Plan for NATO alliance integration ADBde has the obligation within the partnership goals to meet suitable standards concerning the aircrafts.
By upgrading a helicopter, ADBde improves the operational efficiency especially for night flights without using lights. Furthermore, the upgrading will increase the mission and task safety as well as save finances which would be necessary for a new helicopter.
Over the last few days, the night flight system ANVIS-HUD 24 was tested, including trial helicopter flights and the support technical documentation for the helicopter was completed.
