Today, following the Plan for touring Army units and commands by the Multinational South-East Europe brigade (SEEBRIG), which has been located in Camp ‘Boro Menkov’ in Kumanovo since 26th August 2020, a visit to the second infantry battalion (2ndIBn) of the first infantry brigade (1stIBde) was conducted.
SEEBRIG representatives, who were led by Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Evangelos Mitroutsikos, were met by 1stIBde Commander, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski and by the 2ndIBn Deputy Commander, Colonel Mitko Popov.
During the briefing the attendees were familiarized with the unit’s mission, structure and capacities; experiences from the last NATO evaluation were shared, as well as the process of transformation and modernization of the unit.
As part of today’s activity, SEEBRIG representatives toured the declared infantry company of the second infantry battalion, which is part of SEEBRIG and unit’s capabilities on the topic of – “Mobile Checkpoint” were demonstrated.
