From 20 to 27 August 2026, members of the Reconnaissance and Intelligence Battalion conducted summer mountaineering and rappelling training in the Matka area as part of their preparations to participate in the upcoming international exercise “Common Challenge 26”, which will be held in Montenegro.
During the training, different content and practical activities were conducted, aimed at improving the individual and collective capabilities for carrying out tasks in complex mountain conditions. The personnel improved their techniques and procedures for moving across difficult mountain terrain, mountaineering ascents and descents, as well as other activities related to summer mountaineering and rappelling.
This type of training contributes to improving the physical fitness, endurance and specialised skills of the battalion’s personnel, as well as increasing their readiness to conduct reconnaissance and intelligence tasks in diverse and challenging conditions. At the same time, the training represents an important part of the preparations for successful participation and interoperable operations with personnel from the partner armies during the international exercise “Common Challenge 26”.
