The professional-specialist training on the topic “Camping and feeding in nature” was carried out at the terrains of Shar Planina and Bistra, within the areas of responsibility of the 1st Infantry Battalion (1st IB) and the 3rd Infantry Battalion (3rd IB), in accordance with the annual training agenda. As any other year, the members of the reconnaissance platoon of the 1st IB and the 3rd IB of the First Infantry Brigade (1st IBr) successfully completed the training.
The purpose of the training is to practically train the personnel in survival in nature, independently creating conditions for life and work, when it is necessary, or in conditions when there is no regular supply of the unit with survival food. The training was carried out through the construction of facilities for accommodation, filtering drinking water from unpolluted wells with manual means, nutrition, finding and using food originating from animals and plants from the mountains and rivers in the surrounding wider area, as well as preparation of the food for eating.
The scouts acquired new and upgraded their existing abilities with the necessary techniques and skills, increased their reliability and self-confidence, and practically demonstrated their training and readiness to perform duties and tasks in real conditions, isolated, without the everyday means for life and work.
